Traffic Safety Culture

According to a working definition of the US Department of Transportation Safety Council (US DOT), traffic safety culture is defined as “The shared values, actions, and behaviours that demonstrate a commitment to safety over competing goals and demands”.

Ηοwever, there is still not an official agreed term on what traffic safety culture is. Projects such as Traffic Safety Culture (TraSaCu) aim at developing a cultural approach in road traffic safety research and accident prevention.

For more information on research and literature regarding Traffic  Safety Culture please visit the official TraSaCu website here.
