About
European Traffic Safety Culture Observatory
European Traffic Safety Culture Observatory (ETSCO) is an initiative of Road Safety Institute (RSI) ‘Panos Mylonas’, developed in cooperation with the Center of Cross-Cultural Psychology (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens).
ETSCO aims to study, record and evaluate attitudes and behaviours of all road users (car drivers, motorcyclists, pedestrians, cyclists, professional drivers, etc.), as well as monitor their evaluation over time. Moreover, ETSCO aims at constructing a theoretical framework for the in-depth analysis of traffic safety culture in Greece and evaluate the impact of implemented policies.
The knowledge and methodology are based on the TraSaCu project (Traffic Safety Cultures and the Safe Systems Approach – Towards a Cultural Change Resarch and Innovation Agenda for Road Safety). TraSaCu project has received funding from the European Union Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 645690.
